Updates Complete for Season 2019: (2018-2019):
Navigation of this Web Site:
This site is a historical site and pages will not change except for the correction of errors and adding additional information.
Most information is by year. Year means the year of the State Tournament, thus basketball for the school year 2009-2010 will be shown as 2010. Start by clicking either Boys or Girls and then click the year. Most information for that year will be indicated on that page. You can always click home to get back here.
The tabs above are for the following:
SCHOOLS A listing of all of the schools in New Mexico that have played basketball in at least one district tournament since 1921. School colors and mascots are listed as well as the location of the school. Current class and district is listed for open schools, and the last year that the school played in district tournament is shown for closed schools. YOU CAN'T GET TO SCHOOL RECORDS AND COACHES FROM THIS LOCATION.
BOYS Click the year you are looking for. If you want to look at 1988-1989 basketball season, then click 1989. From the control page relating to that year, you can chek out the state tournament bracket (with results) of all games, pictures of the champions, and occasionally a story about that tournament. Tournaments go back to 1916.
GIRLS Same as boys. Goes back to 1973.
COACHES This tab takes you to a page where you can find the overall year-by-year record of most of the winningest boys coaches. Sorry, I do not have this information for girls.
OFFICIALS This is a listing of all officials at the state tournament, by year, and alphabetically, for both boys and girls tournaments.
DISTRICT & REGIONALS All district and regional tournament results can be found from this tab.
PRE-PLAYOFFS With this tab, you can find the results of all pre-playoff games played for both boys and girls, in Classes AAAA & AAA from 1976-2000.
SCHOOL RECORDS AND COACHES This tab will lead you to a page where you can select a school (Open or Closed) and find a year by year listing of the boys head coach and the season record. (Boys records only).
COACHES (OVER 200 WINS) This tab takes you to a listing of boys coaches with 200 wins or more.
ALL-STATE TOURNAMENT TEAMS Lists all-state tournament teams selected 1995 and before.
STATE TOURNAMENT RECORDS A link to NMAA listings.
INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENTS This tab takes you to a page where you can trace the history of any boys invitational tournamet in the state.
MISCELLANEOUS As it says, miscellaneous!
LINKS Interesting links related to New Mexico Prep Basketball.
CONTACT CHUCK Please contact me to correct any errors, or to submit other information that I might post.
* Although I have completed posting pictures of all championship teams (and a few others), I would be willing to accept better quality photos for any team. For the years since 2001, I scanned the pictures from the program, and the quality is not too good. I am definately looking for better. In 2001, I used the photos submitted to NMAA and they came out great! However I really like the team pictures that are in color! If you have a picture, please click "Contact Chuck" and let me know.
